Why Choose

Our School

Our goal at First is to create well-rounded individuals who grow in faith, wisdom, and compassion.

We achieve this goal by focusing on the following four main pillars:

  1. Curriculum for Life
  2. Family Weekends
  3. Recess & Movement
  4. Educating the Whole Child

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. - Psalm 119:105

At First Lutheran, we believe that education is not just about preparing students for exams, but for life.

Just as Psalm 119 reminds us that God’s word is a guiding light, our curriculum will serve as a source of direction for students, offering them knowledge and understanding grounded in Scripture. Students will learn to apply biblical principles to their academic pursuits, fostering a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

But as for me and my household - we will serve the Lord! - Joshua 24:15

Strong families are the foundation of a strong community, and we want to give families time to be a family.

That is why we purposely plan our school year calendar to ensure time off for families throughout the year, roughly once a month, for a long weekend.

In the end, we want the family to be at the center of all that we do as a school and for Family Weekends to provide opportunities for families to come together, grow in faith, and build lasting relationships.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

- 1 Corinthians 6:19

We want to allow kids to be kids as much as possible. Exercise, movement, and creative play are essential to the healthy brain and physical development of the child.

We will encourage students to engage in regular physical activity, helping them to stay healthy and energized, while also developing teamwork, perseverance, and discipline.

At the end of each day, students will have had at least 45 minutes of recess and movement. On days that gym class is held, that number jumps all the way up to 75 minutes of physical activity.

Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people. - Luke 2:52

Through personalized learning, social-emotional development, and opportunities for spiritual growth, we aim to nurture every aspect of each student’s life. Our goal is to create well-rounded individuals who grow in faith, wisdom, and compassion.
